The posh, residential Upper East Side is known for
its wealthy denizens, fancy restaurants and designer shops along Madison
Avenue. It's a pretty neighborhood, with a mix of classic brownstones and
upscale high-rises. Although the Upper East Side is best known for upscale
real-estate, well-known prep schools and designer boutiques, affordable
apartments and relaxed living are easy to find in this quiet and bright
neighborhood.
Upper East used to be kind of isolated with the
rest of Manhattan because of the inconvenience of transportation. However, subways
make everything easier. To some old-fashioned residents in Upper East, it’s not
a happy thing: they enjoyed being isolated and mysterious as they wanted to
remain the traditional, high-class, and wealthy members in this area!
